Anne Arundel Medical Center

Location: Annapolis, Maryland

Projects: Oncology Center and the Rebecca M. Clatanoff Women’s Pavilion

Description: The Oncology Center is one of the first structures in a series of seven buildings to be built in this extensive medical complex. The site design was critical to creating a special feature around which future site planning was organized. This entry courtyard and auto court has become the focal point for this portion of the campus. The design includes a courtyard with paving, a central fountain, and plantings to create an exterior space for contemplation and to guide visitors to their destinations.

The Rebecca M. Clatanoff Women’s Pavilion is the third building in this developing complex. The entry plaza created between the existing medical facilities and the new hospital is a key piece of urban design and acts as an outdoor reception room for all the new buildings. Site furnishings such as planted custom obelisks, lampposts, and benches were added to enhance the hospital's campus.
