Location: Easton, Maryland

Description: The development is a neo-traditional community that honors the Chesapeake Bay and respects it’s Critical Area designation. It’s a project that emphasizes open space and the natural beauty of the water’s edge.

Our role for Easton Village is to ensure that the open spaces and the river’s edges are protected, as well as, provide opportunities for the residents of the community to enjoy the environment. Another important aspect of the work was to create the exterior designs that make neo-traditional communities so livable, the streetscape, fencing, planting, and porches, to put the emphasis on people rather than the automobile.

There are several shared community open space parks and squares linked to each other and residential areas by pedestrian connections. The beauty of the development at the water’s edge is emphasized by its remaining natural shoreline. Access to the water is concentrated within designated areas in order to minimize disturbance to the environment.
